​​​The theme for the inauguration is: β€œTogether Celebrating Democracy: Renewal and Growth for a Better South Africa".

It reinforces that everyone has a role to play in building a brighter tomorrow. It emphasises that we must build on our achievements and work even harder to tackle poverty, inequality and unemployment.

The inauguration takes the form of a formal ceremony to mark the beginning of the President's term of office. During the inauguration the President will deliver an address to inform South Africans of his vision and intent during his term of office.
