The Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME) will host the second Socio-Economic Impact Assessment System (SEIAS) Community of Practice session in Grosvenor, Hatfield, 28 November 2018.

The SEIAS Community of Practice is a learning network for policy and legislation developers. The purpose of the Community of Practice is to:

  • Develop a learning network and system for practitioners that champion and undertake SEIAS;

  • Provide a space for practitioners to test policy proposals; and

  • Provide a platform for knowledge sharing and reflection on individual experiences in the application of SEIAS,

The expected outcomes from the session will be to provide better insight and knowledge in techniques and approaches to problem identification, and root cause analysis which are critical to policy development, reorientation of SEIAS champions and practitioners on the application of SEIAS, and the roll out of the SEIAS online IT System.

SEIAS was introduced by Cabinet in February 2015 to ensure that all new and reviewed policies, legislation and regulations are aligned to the National Development Plan.
