MINISTER RAMOKGOPA TO DELIVER DPME BUDGET VOTE 2025 ADDRESS
The Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Hon. Maropene Ramokgopa, will deliver the 2025 Budget Vote Speech of the Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME) on Tuesday 8 July 2025, at Parliament in Cape Town. The Budget Vote is an opportunity for the Minister and Deputy Minister to reflect on the Department's performance over the past year and outline key priorities for the 2025/26 financial year. The speech will also highlight how the DPME will leverage its allocated R450 million budget to support government-wide planning, monitoring, and evaluation. This year's address will touch on: - The Department's oversight of the Medium-Term Development Plan (MTDP) 2024–2029
- Strengthening the use of data science, research, and evaluation to guide decision-making
- Improving coordination and delivery through intergovernmental collaboration
- Institutional reform and performance monitoring across state-owned enterprises and local government
- DPME's role in advancing South Africa's G20 Development Working Group priorities
The Minister will also reflect on the evolving role of DPME in shaping long-term planning and performance review mechanisms, in line with the NDP Vision 2030.
