THE 2nd PLANNING, MONITORING AND EVALUATION FORUM (PM&E Forum)
The Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME) is mandated to provide strategic direction on the implementation of the National Development Plan (NDP) Vision 2030 through a range of planning, monitoring and evaluation systems and tools.  It shares its strategic direction through platforms of engagement such as the PM&E Forum, which specifically serve to engage, consult and communicate with DPME's key stakeholders (government, private sector, civil society, academia etc.) on matters related to planning, monitoring and evaluation.  The Forum also serves as a vehicle to enhance stakeholder mobilisation towards the implementation of NDP, as well as institutionalization and professionalization of PM&E in the state machinery and within the South African society at large. DPME hosted the 1st PM&E Forum on October 12 and 13, 2017 to engage stakeholders on the strategic direction that the department was undertaking.

The 2nd PM&E Forum was held on October 04 and 05, 2018 at St George Hotel in Pretoria. The main purpose of the Forum was to deliberate on the strategic direction of the department and to solicit the collective wisdom of key South African stakeholders on proposed DPME initiatives as listed below:

  • Draft Integrated Planning Framework Bill

  • National Development Plan (NDP) 5-year Implementation Plan (2019-2024);

  • Draft National Spatial Development Plan (NSDF);

  • Draft Framework for the 25 Year Review;
